This month we are showcasing our beautiful Luxe Bride Bailey and the wedding to her handsome husband Davis! Bailey and Davis were married in April of 2023 at Hidden Greens Events in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by their friends and family! Here is their story including Bailey’s journey to being a Luxe Bride!
Tell us about the proposal!
My husband proposed at the Arboretum in Chaska, MN during the Winter Lights Festival on 1/2/2022! He had been planning it for awhile, but didn't check the weather so it ended up being -10 degrees lol From the moment we got there he started talking about how cold it was. I had a little bit of an idea he was going to propose so I kept going off into little nooks, but all he could get out was that it was freezing!! (He was very noticeably super nervous) About halfway through the Winter Lights, after he had said it's so cold about 50x I asked if he wanted to go home and he paused for what felt like 10 minutes (realistically it was about 10 seconds lol). He then pulled me down a little staircase that was close by and said "If we left then I wouldn't be able to do this!" I kind of blacked out on the specific wording he used to be honest! After it was all said and done we ran as fast as we could to get inside because it felt like my hands were gonna fall off!! Not the most romantic proposal ever but it was sweet and a little goofy. Just like my husband!!
Describe your bridal style. How did you want to look on your wedding day? Tell us about your dress shopping experience.
I don't know if I had a specific bridal style, but I knew I wanted a tulle skirt with a more elaborate top - whether it be beading or lace or something else I wasn't sure! I ended up going with an elevated version of the type of dress I wanted! It was so much more beautiful than what I had been looking at online! Suzanne was so kind and pulled my dress as the second dress I tried on! She was very on the ball and knew exactly what I was looking for style wise. Going into dress shopping as a plus size bride is a very emotional and scary experience and I was convinced that I was going to feel terrible the entire time I shopped and wouldn't get that YES moment like other brides talk about, but Suzanne made sure I felt so comfortable. I ended up crying and feeling so beautiful by the end of the appointment!
Tell us more about your wedding. What was your theme and color scheme? How did you make your wedding personal to your love story?
I wanted our wedding to be simple and elegant. I went with all different shades of green and ivory (with pops of gold) as our color scheme. For my bouquet I just did a full white canvas of seasonal flowers! I left it completely up to my florist and she nailed it!
What was the most special memory from the day?
It's so hard to pick one specific special memory of the day! It was so well orchestrated and just beautiful in every way. Spending time with my bridesmaids in the morning getting ready was so fun especially because most of the people there were visiting from Ohio where I am from. I loved getting to see my new Minnesota friends interacting with my oldest and closest friends from Ohio. I felt so calm the entire day and was just so happy to have all of my loved ones around me. I loved every moment I got to spend with my now husband Davis and we made sure to fully take in the entire day together as much as possible!
