Luxe Bride Hannah + Patrick

Not just a Luxe Bride, but also a Luxe stylist, Hannah and her husband Patrick said I do pretty close to home - the family farm! With gorgeous greenery and a clear blue sky, this wedding was picture perfect. Here’s a peek into their big day.

Tell us about the proposal!

We had been together for about 5 years and had talked about getting married for a while, so I sort of knew it was coming. Despite that, he was still able to surprise me. We were heading up to North Dakota for Christmas celebrations with the family, and on the way, we decided to stop for supper. As we were pulling into the town we first met, he made a comment that it was a really nice night for December in North Dakota so we decided to take a walk down by the river. When we were halfway across a beautiful bridge, he stopped to take in the view. Because he couldn’t get down on one knee due to an ankle injury a few days prior, he turned and popped the question! It was a breathtaking moment that truly spoke to who we are as a couple.

Describe your bridal style. How did you want to look on your wedding day? Tell us about your dress shopping experience.

My bridal style was a bit up in the air until I found my dress. I’ve never been great at vocalizing what I am looking for, but can absolutely tell what I like once it is on. My bridal stylist, Suzanne, was able to take my vague descriptions and put me in my dream dress on the second one. The actual experience of shopping was absolutely amazing. As a bigger plus size woman, dress shopping was something I dreaded. But as soon as I stepped into the shop, I knew I was going to find my dress! I actually ended up finding my veil and jewelry at my appointment too, which made the whole ordeal of bridal shopping so much simpler.

Tell us more about your wedding. What was your theme and color scheme? How did you make your wedding personal to your love story?

Our wedding didn’t have a true theme while we were planning, but it ended up being a very soft and romantic ceremony, with our colors being dusty lavender, plum, and eucalyptus green. Our reception had more of the plum color and felt a little darker with black and gold accents. The personal touches we had were mainly in the reception, with our favorite tea blend as favors and a personal cheesecake for the two of us made by my father!

What was the most special memory from the day?

It’s hard to pick just one, but it would probably have to be the ceremony itself. Our officiant was a close friend of ours that knew the two of us from the early days of our relationship, so he truly saw us grow to be the couple we are now. I wrote the script for the ceremony myself because I wanted it to be short and sweet, but also be a reflection of the love between us. Being a bit type a, I wanted our recessional song to start at the perfect time so that when we got to the big kiss, it hit the crescendo of the song. It was a truly magical moment.

Congrats Hannah + Patrick
