This month, we are showcasing our gorgeous Luxe Bride Jennifer and her husband, Dane. They were married on January 11th, 2025 at Hug Point in Arch Cape. Oregon. Take a peek into their heartwarming wedding story below!
Tell us about the proposal!
My proposal was very simple and unexpected. Dane picked me up from the airport, I was flying home from Florida with my dear friend Cassy and her family. As soon as I got home, Dane told me to go inside and he would grab my suitcase, not thinking any of it, I walked in the door and first saw a bouquet of white Tulips on the counter. I then spotted a little gray box, before Dane could say anything, and I mean anything, I just kept asking him if it could wait. I wanted to shower. I wanted to shower so bad because not only had I just come from the airplane, but I held my friend Cassy’s little baby on the plane and had drool up and down my air, all over my sweatshirt, I was a mess.
He tried to have this nice proposal, and I kind of ruined it with my need to shower. He kept telling me to open the box, and I kept saying no, it wasn’t how I wanted it to happen, and finally he just opened the box and asked.
It ended up being nice and simple proposal, and for us, it made perfect sense.

Describe your bridal style. How did you want to look on your wedding day? Tell us about your dress-shopping experience.
My shopping experience with Luxe was great. Suzanne was awesome to work with and made the whole experience such a fun and positive one. I came in with my sister Julia to try on some dresses. I knew I needed to look at the sample sale dresses as we were going to try to get married in July while my Fiancé Danes son was home from Australia. I went in for my appointment in April and tried on dresses. I had been watching the Luxe Sample site on Instagram, and I saw Suzanne in this very beautiful white simple dress. I knew I needed to try this dress on! It was the first dress I tried on, I did try on a few more, but I always kept coming back to the first dress. That dress was everything I wanted; it wasn’t anything over the top, but just enough. I took it home that day, and I am glad I did because another woman called while I was checking out to ask if the dress was still available. It was perfect timing!

Tell us more about your wedding. What was your theme and color scheme? How did you make your wedding personal to your love story?
Since Sam is only home twice a year from Australia, I knew we needed to either try to get married in July, or January, and since trying on my dress in April we were really shooting for July. We went and put a deposit on The Annex in Uptown and we were going to make July work. It wasn’t until we started to chat with Danes family, and they had some conflicts with the original date, so we decided to just put it out until January. Although January is not ideal in MN because you never know what the weather will be nice, it was our only choice. We would make it work out.
After more planning, and my grandmother's passing, I decided that the 100-person wedding at home just didn’t feel right anymore, and I wanted to have a smaller wedding on the beach. I started to google wedding photographers and came across these stunning wedding pictures out in the PNW. I found a place on google called “Hug Point,” outside of Cannon Beach, Oregon. Not only was it beachside, but it had the most stunning waterfall backdrop. It had the mountains and forest; it was absolutely incredible. I showed the picture to Dane and he was sold. We originally planned to just go out there and get married with 2 of our friends, our officiant and Sam, but we ended up with 32 of our closest family and friends.
I am grateful that we decided on inviting our family to come. My Dad had a brain aneurysm in November and thankfully pulled through. He had many, many weeks of being in the ICU down at Abbot, followed by weeks and weeks of therapy at Courage Kenny. The staff at the hospital was so kind and we had a count down on his white board. He worked so hard and was able to come and walk me down the aisle. I will never be more grateful for anything; I am so happy he was able to make the trip and be part of my wedding.
We flew out on a Tuesday and got married on Saturday. We found the cutest little Italian restaurant, named Nonni’s, in Seaside where we celebrate with drinks, dinner, and dessert after the wedding. It was perfect, even though it rained, we ended up with the most beautiful day.
I found a lady just south of Seaside who did my flowers, and they turned out absolutely incredible. I asked for dark and moody, and she delivered. They were the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen. We had a lady in Portland make us sugar cookies, and those were placed at dinner, which were also insane. Her talent is incredible.
Every little detail was exactly how we imagined it would be, even all the rain!

What was the most special memory from the day?
The whole day was special, but my Dad being able to make the trip to Oregon is my most special memory.
